Our approach to sustainable buttons and trims spans ten categories, everything from sustainable raw materials to post-consumer recycled products to opportunities to make the production process more environmentally-friendly. Our belief is a holistic and well-rounded approach to sustainability that takes into account every aspect of the product lifecycle. See some of our favorite categories below.
Sustainability is at the core of ABM and we have made sustainability the focus for our entire company. With over 35 years of experience, we have separated sustainability into 10 different product categories that take into account the entire product lifecycle. Each category carries with it a specific set of product that our R&D team continues to design and develop for each season, taking into account current fashion trends. Natural Organic Products
Only when the inedible corozo nut falls naturally from the tree can it be used to make buttons. Our sustainable wood and bamboo come from areas approved by the Forest Stewardship Council. We use by-product coconut shells from other industries.

Natural Harvested Products
Our shells are ethically and legally sourced, which makes them even more beautiful. We partner with the farmers in the Indo-Pacific islands and give them an annual quota, so that their resources are not depleted.

Recycled Natural Materials
You can see the actual recycled material in our recycled natural products. Recycled shell and wood dust are encased in recycled polyester, creating an iconic contemporary look.

Recycled GRS (Global Recycle Standard) Materials
Each order from our GRS certified recycled material comes with a Transaction Certificate, certifying the material’s authenticity and traceability. Created from certified post-consumer waste, this category gives these materials a second lifecycle.
